Graduated from East Canton High School in 1960
Based on military records Sargent Vierheller was assigned to B CO, 1st BN, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division as a Rifleman. After his training, Sergeant Vierheller began his tour of duty to South Vietnam on August 12, 1967.
On April 30, 1968, Sergeant Vierheller and his Marine Division was attacked by enemy forces. During the firefight, Sergeant Vierheller was KIA.
