The Mapleton Evangelical Lutheran Church built a building on Lotz Avenue near Mapleton in 1891. That building was given to the Osnaburg Historical Society in July of 1978. It has become the Mapleton Museum, housing many artifacts from the area.

Among the items available for viewing at this location is a US Mail horse-drawn buggy and a many military mementos. There is an 1882 hymnal, a working crank Victrola, an Osnaburg band drum and uniform and much more.

The facility is now available for burial ceremonies at the adjoining Mapleton Cemetery during inclement weather.

Open houses are held regularly and community members are welcome to visit the museum. Membership forms are available at osnaburghistoricalsociety@gmail.com
