History of Varian Orchards video
Join us Sunday, September 27 for the September Open House at Werner Inn, 131 East Nassau St., East Canton, Ohio. Parking is at the rear of the building, off of Route 44. Reed Varian of Varian Orchards will be the guest speaker for the day. Reed will begin his presentation shortly after 1:30 pm. The program is scheduled to last approximately one hour.
Reed will share the agricultural history of the Varian Farm which has been in operation for more than 100 years. He’ll discuss how apples have evolved and developed through the ages. As a bonus Reed will give a history lesson about the train and tunnel that once crossed the Varian farm property. Visitors will be able to view a few photos of the tunnel that were presented to the historical society recently.
In addition, visitors can tour Werner Inn to view all the historical items that have been given to the society from friends and community members. Admission is free, but good will offerings are always appreciated.
